Requirements and Expectations

We are excited that you are considering Providence Englewood Charter School for your child’s education. Our goal is to work with you to prepare your child for future academic success and responsible citizenship. To date, 100 percent of our students have been accepted into Chicago’s leading high schools.

Providence Englewood has a limited number of spaces available for new students at each grade level. To ensure every student interested in attending Providence Englewood has an equal opportunity, we conduct a lottery system for our open slots. To participate in the lottery, families must complete and submit an admissions application. After a student has been selected in the lottery and in advance of enrollment the following items are needed: (1) prior year grade report (2) prior year standardized test scores (3) certified copy of birth certificate.

Processes and Deadlines

Both new students and students who are returning to Providence Englewood for the next school year must submit their applications and required documents to us no later than Friday February 9, 2018.  You can receive the admissions application from our school office, or if you have access to a printer, you can print and complete the attached electronic application.

Admissions Application

Submit to:
Providence Englewood Charter School
6515 South Ashland Avenue
Chicago, IL 60636

The lottery for the 2018–2019 school year will be held Thursday March 1, 2018 and conducted in the following manner:

  • Names on submitted admissions applications will be assigned numbers
  • Numbers will be chosen via lottery by a third party
  • Calls will be made and letters mailed to inform prospective students and their families of their number position
  • If the grade level has open seats, the numbers, in order, will fill those seats until capacity is reached (25 students per class). If seats are unavailable, this means the grade level is closed and remaining numbers will go on our school’s wait list
  • If after 2 weeks of the new school year starting, there are students who have not returned, we will offer those slots to families on the wait-list in numbered order
